I'm a COLOR Girl!· Project Pics· Tricks of the Trade

14 Sep

How many of you walk through a store and call out, "Oooo, I love that [Rich Razzleberry] shirt!"?! (Insert optional color choice.)

I do that all the time!! In fact, Todd or the kids try to do the same thing to tease me. Sometimes they make up their own color names.

Well, I find myself doing that same thing on Pinterest, of course….

(You can take a girl away from her colors, but you can't take the colors away from the girl!!)

I love finding gorgeous color combinations on Pinterest! I instantly think of how that would translate to Stampin' Up! colors.

…which is why I started posting Pin-spirations on Fridays.

Summer Silhouettes & One in a MillionHere's my card–with Pacific Point, Marina Mist, Cajun Craze, So Saffron & Basic Gray.

It seems just a little bit fallish to me just because of the Cajun in it.

I don't use Pacific Point often, but I love how it stands out here–so vibrant!

The stamp sets are Summer Silhouettes and One in a Million.

There were a couple small things I did to make the card stand out a little.

Pinterest Inspired

You can't tell it easily in the pics, but I did use Dimensionals behind the Marina Mist (behind the flowers) layer. In person, it makes a world of difference.

It looks like a matted picture.

The other thing I did–in trying to get the right mix of inspired colors–was to add Cajun Craze marker directly to the stamp AFTER I inked up the flower in So Saffron.

It makes the flowers look much more real [than if I had just stamped flower in So Saffron and center in Cajun Craze.]

I like the look–AND it's not that hard. You don't have to be particular in your markering.

So now here's the Pin-spiration:

Pinspiration

I love seeing the vivid colors in a picture (or real life) and translating them into my Stampin' Up! colors!

So tell me what's one of–or some of–YOUR favorite color combinations? I'd love to hear! Leave me a comment below!

Have a great weekend!

I LOVE this card! The colors are great and makes me think fall too! 🙂 My girls (and even Colleen's boyfriend!) also tease me about the ink colors they see when they're out and about…for some reason this summer, Tempting Turquoise was the color that they saw everywhere! 🙂

Pretty bad if your daughter's boyfriend's getting in on it, too! We just have to stick together, Marcia! Thanks for making me smile.
