I have the most wonderful family in the world!!
This time I have to tell you about my nephew, Isaac. He's about to turn 8. He and his family (there are 4 children; he's the 3rd) have been making bags to give to missionaries that go to Nigeria. They were going to see them recently at a conference. The bags can be used as a Bible bag or I think sometimes the missionaries fill them with items to give to local residents in Nigeria.
Well, remember my special week that I was gettin' all kinds of love (jelly bean and love note)? A couple days later Isaac talked to me after church and gave ME a bag they made. He said that they each got to choose one to give to somebody. And he picked me! (How special did THAT make me feel?!) He told me his mom helped him pick the colors that I would like. They were perfect! And so was his proud face. I know they all worked so hard!
(And the Lord must have known I needed special care that week or somethin' because I was getting it left & right.)
Of course, I oohhed and aahhed and gave hugs & kisses! It was just so precious to me. It is now my Bible bag. (I'm sure you can imagine how pleased he was to see me use it the next time!)
His birthday is coming up in a couple weeks and I just received the perfect card to give him! IT'S SO ISAAC! A couple of my clubs swap cards each time, and I received this one from Elaine. (I know she saw the idea somewhere online, but I have no idea where.)
This little guy completely reminds me of Isaac (and his brother, Caleb, 6, actually). They sit behind us in church, and I just love to hear them singing their little hearts out to the Lord. It warms MY heart, so I'm sure the Lord is loving their praises!
Isaac loves animals and music. He'll love this card. Thanks, Elaine. And don't anyone tell Isaac he's getting it!!!
By the way, can you tell all the punches used to make it? I can identify at least 6–although, to be fair, one is hidden by the songbook. Except for Elaine, tell me your guesses (by looking at the card, NOT by googling!) I'll confirm them as you comment below.
Remember, if you can fall in love with a project, you can learn to create it! Here to help you channel your inner Creative Genius….
Have a great week!
