At the Risk of Ruining a Surprise….

July 19, 2012
Project Pics· Tricks of the Trade

19 Jul

Here's another Reason to Smile card. It will be similar to one we're making at my club on Tuesday. (a little different, though; I promise!)

But this one is special.Scan0120

I sent one like this to my niece Isabela for her 4th birthday. BUT knowing her love of princesses and pretty things, I lined the white with Rhinestone jewels wherever they would fit.

Honestly, I thought the card was going to be late, but I was actually a few days early! That NEVER happens! And I was pretty happy.

So, I felt like I got a birthday present, because she called me to thank me for the card, and she chatted for over 15 minutes. (Had to leave a message first, which was hilarious! It was her first time calling on the phone herself–listening for the person or machine.)

Amazingly enough, when we did chat, SHE did most of the talking! (Can you believe she could compete with me?!) And I can't even begin to tell you about the whole conversation in a blog. Wouldn't do it justice.

Audio is required; I'm sure video would be even better. (My sister said she wished she could have taped it.) I was laughing most of the time; I just couldn't help it! She's too cute!!!!! Todd calls it "unintentional comedy." *Ü*

So somewhere in there she thanked me for the card and talked to me about her princess party (several times!), so I asked her if she thought the card I sent her was "princess-y".

She very sweetly said, "Nooooo………..It was "stamp-y."

HA! LOVE IT!

She continued telling me about a card I had given her a different year that was "pink and had pink on it……" I had tried to make it look like a crown. That obviously suited her much better.

Of course, you know her mom taught her to be thankful and was probably cringing. But the honesty is PRICELESS! I adored the birthday chat.

Ok, so on the card, can you see the Paper Piercing? Love the look! As I've told you, one of the new templates coordinates with the new Apothecary Accents Framelits…..The designer paper is the framelit; the white is the Oval Accent Bigz Clear die.

This cool Reason to Smile also uses the ApothecaryScan0119 Accents Framelits. My downline Michelle Jager made it with all 5 of the new In Colors. It looks brayered to me, but she just sponged.

AND…….she said sponging with the new pads takes less time, because the ink just sits on the top of the pad. Easy transfer!

You have through July 31 to earn Reason to Smile for $5. After that, it will no longer be available. Here's the flyer again.

Remember, if you can fall in love with a project, you can learn to create it! Here to help you channel your inner Creative Genius….

Have a great day!
