Hello! I’m back with more from our trip!
We’re on our way into Skagway.

Stampin’ Up!® gifted all of us an excursion–the White Pass & Yukon Railroad trip up the mountain in Skagway, Alaska. We’d done this trip the last time were in Skagway. But I hadn’t really thought about the different timing of the 2 trips, and it’s interesting that we saw a lot more snow in the mountains when we went up this time. It’s a gorgeous trip, and Todd spends a lot of time out on the platform on one of the ends of the car to get pics.
Ha! I just realized you can see our ship in the background before we leave the train station.

I could COMPLETELY have the order of these pics wrong, so forgive me. But one of the things I love about these pics is seeing across the valley to the railroad that we’re either heading to or we’ve already come from. Oh, and the bottom left is a river we see parts of on the way up and down. Btw, we take the same path on the way down as we do up….At the top, there’s a loop, so we head back down and the other side of the cars get the better views that they missed on the way up.

This is one of Todd’s favorite pics to take, and the tour guides on the train (speaking on a loudspeaker for all the cars) point it out every time–on the way up and down. If you look really closely in the high middle of the pic, you can see back to our ship in the harbor(?). That’s amazing how far up we get–and that we get that view!

Here, Todd’s looking back at the train. We’re maybe in a middle car; I don’t remember if we were told–and I didn’t count–how many cars are on each train.

I didn’t think quickly enough when it happened, but one of my fave moments was on our way back into town when we came down the mountain. At some point, I said that–besides the business owners of the town–I would think the townspeople would be sick of all the tourists they get with multiple ships in port on the same day! SO.MANY.PEOPLE. Well, when we came down, we were riding by–fairly closely–some homes sort of in the woods, and there was a sweet, somewhat older lady standing there with a smile on her face blowing bubbles for us with her bubble machine. It was such a precious thing! Clearly, she doesn’t mind the tourists. 😉
So now, we’re back to town and it’s lunchtime. We got off fairly quickly and went to Skagway Brewing that was suggested for good food. We didn’t have too long of a wait cuz we were there a little before noon and had a plan. We didn’t take pics, but we split a yummy bbq chicken flat bread and beer cheese soup. Again, I don’t have pics of the following, BUT–Todd had shared a video with me of doughboys from Alaskan Fry Bread. They were basically nice, crispy delicious elephant ears. SO GOOD!!!! ps: the reason there’s no pic is because it was mostly gone, before I thought to take one! Todd said, “Well you at least need a pic of the PLACE!!” haha! Sorry–that’s all you get. Highly recommend, but expect a (fairly fast moving) line across the street.

So before I leave this post, I have a quick entertainment pic and some sneak peeks to share….
One of the “shows” that we went to see on the cruise was The High C’s Horns performing Earth, Wind & Fire and Stevie Wonder. Now, I’m not a big 70s fan, but 1) Todd IS and 2) I DO enjoy some of both those artists. This group did a great job! I love the horns!! They also had a pianist, drums, electric and bass guitar. I’ve heard several of the songs they performed since we were on the ship, and it makes me smile. I can see the horns getting into it. 😉

Now for a little sneak peek….This Sunflower Fields DSP will be in the Sept-Dec 2026 Catalog. And btw, I just realized I messed up; there ARE ACTUALLY 6 designs. I only took pics of 5 somehow. :/

Thanks for your interest in our trip! Quick reminder/disclaimer: less than 1% of all Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators earn the incentive trip each year. THANK YOU for helping us get there!
