Alaskan Cruise 2026–Fourth Edition

June 17, 2026
The "Other" Stuff

17 Jun

Hello! Thank you for joining me on our Alaskan adventure!

I believe this will be my last Alaska post, and “today” we’re heading bright & early to the Dawes Glacier–and then later to Juneau. It’s amazing to see ALL THE WATERFALLS in this area. Snow way at the top and what looks like ribbons streaming down the mountain. But when you get closer, you see just how fast they’re rushing, especially at the bottom.

This is always an early morning, so we ordered room service, took in the views from our balcony and went back in when we were too chilly.

So I really like this picture, because it has both a glacier and an iceberg in it. I learned the difference the first time I went to Alaska. The glacier is the 2 humped thing on the right side of the picture. It forms between mountains. The iceberg is the blue ice chunk toward the bottom left of the pic. It is part of the glacier that separated from the whole thing when the glacier calved…a big section just falls off.

Here’s another waterfall with a big iceberg near it also.

This waterfall is really big! Obviously a LOT of threads of waters came together for this one! I feel like we saw a lot more fog on this trip, too.

As I said in a previous post, for some reason, I love when I see other ships doing the same thing as us.

Ok, we were kinda boring in Juneau. So we did a tiny bit of shopping in Juneau, but we literally were there for the crab. MY ONLY DESIRE was to try the famous Tracy’s King Crab Shack! I wanted fresh Alaskan king crab!!! It was our excursion. 😉 And it’s right on the pier near where our ship docked. This pic was actually taken by my friend. She was on the opposite side of the ship as us and took this from her balcony.

They are famous for their BUCKETS of (red King) crab, and I really wanted one! But the cheapest bucket was $300 and supposedly fed 3 people. That was unnecessary.

These were the different kinds of crab available for our meal.

What worked for us was their combo platter. I, of course, chose red King crab and got 1 large crab leg, 4 mini crab cakes, a cup of crab bisque and dinner rolls. It was satisfying, but I DEFINITELY wouldn’t have minded MORE CRAB! It’s shocking that crab leg is as long as I am wide!!

Todd chose the same combo but went with Dungeness crab. Huge difference in size AND price! It was all delicious! (Oh–I was in a mood for fries, too. They were good but not the feature. Todd just got it in his pic.)

As Todd says, “the MONEY shot.” My last and biggest section.

SO GOOD!!! It was gone WAY too quickly!

We had one more port city–Victoria, British Columbia–but we were only there for around 5 hours and chose not to get off the ship. We’d also been there on our last Alaskan cruise and have great pics and great memories from then. We didn’t wanna stress with the timing, and it was right at dinner time. So we went to dinner and had a lovely night together.

When we left Victoria, we were on our way back to Seattle for the next morning to disembark. Here’s a sunrise pic coming into Seattle. I think, by now, you know who took this. 😉 Todd’s amazing.

This pic is actually from the day we left Seattle originally–Mount Rainier. I forgot to include it in my first post. I’m sure Todd’s zooming in. The pixelating makes it look like a painting, honestly. It’s funny–the first time we were ever in Seattle, we had a great tour bus driver who transported us from the airport directly to the cruise line. She told us all about Seattle and said when they get views like this of Mount Rainier (as opposed to when it’s so often raining or cloudy), the locals say “the mountain’s out today.” We’ve been VERY FORTUNATE that all the days we were in Seattle, the mountain was out every time!

Thank you for allowing me to share our journey to Alaska! We had such a wonderful time! And I can’t say enough how THANKFUL I am to Stampin’ Up! for providing the opportunity to earn this trip. And thank you to my Dazzling Demos team and all my customers for your support–which helped me earn this trip. I appreciate you!!
