Question: What could be better than stamping cards, chatting with friends, and eating pizza and yummy dessert?
Answer: NOT A WHOLE LOT!
Todd said my Annual World Card-Making Day Shoebox Swap is his favorite of my events….after it only took us 20 minutes to set up. (I think that must have been a record!)
In case you don't remember what a Shoebox Swap is, I'll remind you…..
Each person:
- designs or copies a card
- makes a sample
- cuts enough supplies for everyone else to make her card
- brings them in a box to pass
We set up extra tables so each person has room to work–in a square so we can chat easily.
Then we all:
- pass the boxes and make each card as it comes along
- chat, eat, drink and be merry!
I realized I'm not as fast a stamper as I thought I was! Ann put me to shame!!!
But I just loved all the cards. Thought you would, too.
I encourage everyone to use SU! supplies–at least for the cs, stamps and ink–but they don't have to be current. So I'm not listing supplies; I'm not sure I even know them all….
Diane Field…used her trip up to Cadillac for her inspiration. Her thoughts were something like, this card doesn't do [the fall colors up north] justice. (I adore SU! colors, but God out-does them every time! *Ü*) We inked up the stamp with one color and randomly markered the it with a darker color…..I like that technique.
Elizabeth Flath…chose the large pearls as a finishing touch. I hadn't used them yet, and I kinda like them! And I always love this saying and Festival of Prints DSP. Can you tell she's a stamp-n-go kind of girl like her mom? She just likes coloring when she's sketching.
Judy Cole…used a card design with the pennants or banners I've been loving. I've been meaning to try the design with the pennants overlapping a little–so I changed up her card just a little bit when I made it. Fun card!
I'll share more Shoebox Swaps over the next couple days.
And since it IS Scrappy Monday, I'll be back later today, too.
Have a great week! (Happy Monday!)
