Reason to Smile (be thankful) #2

Here's Reason to Smile (sample) #2….I decided to pair this sample with my "how to use those scraps" tip. I'll chat about that later….

Now for the blessing part of my #2 Reason to Smile….It's a biggie!

It's my FAMILY!!

I can describe to you why, but you may still not understand just how much of a blessing my family was to us last week.

I don't know where YOU live, but here in Grand Rapids, MI, it was in the 90s last week and 100s at the end of the week. And we have NO A/C right now.

(We had to unhook it when we replaced the furnace in the winter, because it was bad, too. The plan was to replace the A/C in the spring. Plans changed.)

So part of my family lives 3 doors down from us, and they DO HAVE A/C. They offered that we could come over anytime all week and even put mattresses out for us to sleep on most of the week.

We had lots of fun game nights! (We were on vacation all week, too.)

One of my favorite moments was one morning before we

headed out for our day. My sister had told her girls that "IF they were awake" in the morning before we left, they could come out and say good-bye.

While we were getting our stuff out of the way, Morgan came out with a sweet little, "hi!" and a GREAT BIG SMILE! I gave hugs and kisses and asked her if she snuck out of the room. (They were having a "sleepover" with Mom.) She said, "No, I told my mom." Morgan was the only other one up when we left–and she said she wasn't going back to snuggle, but I never asked if she did or not.

Anyway, her face was a precious sight!

And we were extremely thankful for our family!

Back to my sample….I had one of my favorite color combos in mind: Pool Party, Island Indigo, and Lucky Limeade (all last year's In Colors). They are NOT Rich Razzleberry, but–let me tell you–these colors are right up there with it!

So I grabbed a couple scraps

and VersaMark.

Because of the nature (muted-ness) of the stamp I used, I decided to clear emboss it, too, so it would show up well in a sample. Otherwise, I would have just left it "plain."

After I had the basic design down, I added a little bling. You seriously wouldn't believe how quickly this card came together. And I love it!!

THAT'S what I call stamp-n-go! (Here's the link again for the promo.)

Check back tomorrow for Reason to Smile #3.
