Reason #4 to Smile (be thankful) Today

July 12, 2012
I'm a COLOR Girl!· Project Pics· The "Other" Stuff

12 Jul

Well, I'm guessing you know my kids are definitely a (blessing) Reason to Smile!100_0518

They make me laugh actually! They each have such a goofy sense of humor that I love.

In case you haven't seen them in awhile, Elizabeth is the middle girl, and I think you should be able to pick out Tyler. *Ü*

One of the fun things we did on vacation was go to Craig's Cruisers. The kids have had gift cards for awhile now! They saved them for the perfect time.

Their friends, Judy & Marian, came with us. They live in Florida and stay with their grandma (our neighbor) several weeks every summer.

They were all so funny to watch, because of course, you know Tyler wants to be in the lead. But Elizabeth is pretty competitive, too. Judy & Marian were a little more tentative at first, but they got the hang of it.100_0503

(They all had sore legs the next day from riding so many times with their long legs up to their chests. *Ü*)

One round the worker took Tyler's card first (even though Elizabeth felt she was ahead of him) and Elizabeth asked him what was up. She said, "Now I'll be way in back!" The worker told her she'd be ok. And Elizabeth said, "No, now I'll be way behind him." The worker replied, "Don't worry; you'll do fine."

(Elizabeth says she's good at keeping cars "at bay" but not as great at taking the lead. She's certainly awesome at riding bumpers, though!! Todd said she was drafting. *Ü*)

So everyone pulled out onto the track and suddenly Elizabeth zipped in and out of everyone ahead of her to the lead! The worker had turned her car up and everyone else's down. She said later she could barely control it! (She doesn't let off the gas.)

It was hilarious to watch! Her grandpa liked seeing her zip to that lead, too. So funny! (He was dying to get out there and give her a run for her money, but is still recovering from his hip surgery.)

Anyway, we had a great time!

So my sample is inspired from another card I saw online. I love the clean look of it! It's a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" card.

The colors are Pacific Point, black and white. Designer paper is International Bazaar, and "thinking of you" is Sweet Essentials.

I don't know if you can tell or not, but behind the daisy or sunflower or whatever we're calling it, is a stamped image in Pacific Point, too. This "filler" stamp is very muted and pretty.

I have a quick little tip for you, too….As you can see in the 2nd pic, 100_0535I have white inside my card, but the base is black. Rather than just put a piece of white inside, I made my white card base a little smaller than 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" and then attached the whole base to a square black piece. Just gives it a little bit different look.
