Winning Color Combo!

I decided I wanted some good light for the pic–and my day was gone before I knew it.

 

 

Ok, so here's the thing I have to confess to you….

Although I love our American flag, I was not all that inspired by red, white and blue butterflies.

 

BUT–I really liked Marlene's choice of Rose Red, rather than Real Red.

It added a little pink, rather than "candy apple red", and I liked it A LOT!

 

 

 

I learned a few things from this challenge.

1. Don't be afraid to try new colors that you're not sure you're in love with! (I'm so glad I tried them ALL. I'll show those tomorrow, too.)
2. For this 3-step set, you really DO typically want your biggest contrasting color for the most detailed stamp. (Otherwise, the [edges] stamp covers up a color–some of the dots–you wanna see.)
3. A perfectly fabulous color combo may not work with [layered] ink as well as it does with cardstock or side-by-side stamping.
4. You will typically achieve best results when you have a full contrast of colors–light medium and dark. (I think you'll see that when you see all the samples tomorrow.)
