Little Mini Vacation

August 18, 2025
The "Other" Stuff

18 Aug

Hey peeps!

I may have mentioned last week was Todd’s birthday–at least on my Live! Well he had to work ON his birthday, but he took the couple days off after that.

We went peach picking the first morning and got LOTS of peaches! I realized we didn’t take any pics of them all. But you’ll see them in fruit salad a few times in the next year. 😉

One of the other things we chose to do is go back to the Sunflower farm for sunset pics!

I had to wrangle this guy up to take a pic with me! He was ALL into just taking pics of sunflowers! 😉

You know I love these dark sunflowers!

Turns out sunflowers and sunsets go well together!

We had some yummy food on his mini vacation, too! We tried the Root Beer Barrel in Douglas on our way back from peach picking. We both tried the Frankie Dog with bacon. And yes, that’s mac n cheese under the bacon! (I should have taken a pic of how much topping was left in the basket that I had to eat with a fork! It was SOMETHIN to eat!) The dogs were good but the bees were excessive! Todd took his root beer to the car til we were done. 2 young guys left their root beer floats unattended when they went up to get their dogs. They seemed deathly afraid of bees. After circling them from a few feet away, they ended up throwing them away !

Saturday we went to Ed Dunneback & Girls Farm for their Peaches & Petals Festival. We tried a few of these yummy foods. (Did I mention peaches are Todd’s fave fruit?)

Todd ordered the peach & pork tacos. Very good (but I don’t like those big onions.)

He loved the peach shake–including the donut!

I ordered and ADORED the peach & prosciutto pizza! Great sweet & salty mix. Drizzled with I think honey and balsamic.

It was definitely a place where you could take your young kids, but we just enjoyed the food. But we also had to pay an entrance fee. Not sure we’ll do that again.

But we had a great vacation!

Enjoy the rest of your night!
