Good morning!
Last week we had a fun week “at home,” but we worked in a BUNCH of stuff!!! We started out Monday morning with breakfast out. I LOVE going out to eat! Then we squeezed in:
- retail therapy
- canning peaches
- Off Road Derby at the Hudsonville Fair
- Country Dairy Farm tour & unlimited chocolate milk 🙂 plus ice cream later
- Mac Wood’s Dune Rides
- freezing corn (for Todd’s fave soup thru the winter)
- cooking & baking for bringing Liz some faves in Chicago
- Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago
- visiting Liz and taking her out for dinner (Margaritas) and frozen custard (Hole in the Wall)
- breakfast at Walker Brothers Original Pancake House (Have you ever seen or had their famous apple cinnamon pancake??? SO GOOD!!)
I actually chose the correct winner in this heat of the Off Road Derby, but Todd chose more winners overall. What I didn’t get a pic of was my FAVORITE part of the fair….we got an elephant ear!! I haven’t had one in years! Yum!!
I realized I didn’t get any pics of the dairy cows. These are young beef cows.
Also not pictured is the nice cold unlimited chocolate milk or the ice cream we enjoyed. 😉
I didn’t get a good pic, but these flamingos had deep red, almost brown color under their wings! I’ve never seen that before.
The park next to the zoo was really gorgeous! Todd took the best pic:
So HAVE YOU ever had the apple cinnamon pancake from Walker Brothers? It’s like a gooey coffeecake with crispy, caramel-y edges!
Todd only finished half of it with a few bites of help from me! (I went with eggs to get my protein in. I love eggs but wanted some pancake, too!)
It was a wonderful vacation! And it was fun to try some new things! (Thanks to Lynn VanderLugt for some of those suggestions!)
I’ll be back with my Live! tomorrow, AND my Christmas Class #3 will open tomorrow.
Have an awesome day!!
