Fix Your Chunky Pad!

April 19, 2024

Happy Friday!!!!!!!!

I have a potential help for you today!

Have you ever had an ink pad of yours looking chunky and gross like this? It looks sort of like something’s growing on it…It doesn’t really ink up your stamps well….And trying to re-ink it doesn’t really help!

What I found out from my friend Tamara is the ink has crystalized/separated like house paint does after sitting for a length of time.

Here’s what you can do to fix it:

  • Completely rinse the ink pad under water. SUGGESTION: wear gloves or be extra careful not to spray the ink everywhere. I did it deep in the kitchen sink, so I could clean it well when I was done. (bottom left pic)
  • Let the ink pad dry; I used paper towel to remove the excess, left it open and let it dry overnight.
  • Add ink to the pad from your refill bottle. Good as new! (bottom right pic)

I hope this helps you in case you have a pad that looks like this!

Have a great weekend!
