I unexpectedly fell in love with this stamp set!
I didn't like it AT ALL at first!
Then I started thinking about all the possibilities….
ANY masculine…
Graduation…
Father's Day…
That was it. It's mine.
Here are a couple of my favorite designs that give the effect of taking off:
They both use a technique similar to what I learned as "The Donna"…."Donna" dropped her stamp on her project while stamping; To fix it, she continued stamping/bouncing the stamp in the general same place over and over–giving a more subtle or muted look of the image, almost like it was a soft pastel/chalk.
So for my airplane, I inked once (used the new Archival Basic Black, btw…love it); then:
#1: stamped first toward top right–with an upward angle; and without inking again, stamped 3 or 4 more times while bringing the angle down to flat, so it looks like it took off from the left.
#2: stamped first toward top right–but flat/level; and without inking again, quickly stamped SEVERAL times going down to the left while keeping the stamp level.
Some of my customers were afraid to try this technique, but–as you know–EVERYONE'S cards will look differently….
Just as every pilot probably has a different flight path when taking off.
Don't worry if it looks like he was a rookie pilot. ๐
It'll still look cool!

I made up a Valentine card this weekend for my nephew using "Sky Is the Limit" … the set includes a stamp to use as the planes exhaust โฆโฆ. the trail of exhaust forms a shape of a heart.
