Spoiled & Thankful

Project Picsยท The "Other" Stuff

30 Sep

Todd & I were blessed with a trip to Washington DC from Stampin' Up!

Washington DC!!

This getaway is something I earned with YOUR help!!

Every demonstrator has the opportunity to earn it OR an even BIGGER trip, and this is the first year I earned it.

WE.WERE.SPOILED.

I was posting updates on facebook through the weekend, but didn't want to blog.

So now I'm updating the rest of you!!

Washington Monument

It was pretty much an all-expenses-paid trip. And the city was beautiful!! (Our hotel was gorgeous, too!!)

On our first night in, we hurried off to a Washington Nationals baseball game. It was my first major league game.

I'm not really "into" sports–except when watching Todd or my kids play. THEN I'm ALL IN!! [And probably the loudest one there. ;)] But it was an idea of Todd's and we got pretty good seats at a fairly cheap price. My Love is happy? I'm happy. He thought I was the best. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The stadium was very cool!

When we got back every night, a famous "pillow gift" from Stampin' Up!' was waiting.

Our first night was a box of cupcakes from Georgia Cupcakes. (I'm sure I've heard of them on the Food Network!) They were beautiful and DELICIOUS!!!

Pillow gift #1 Cupcakes!!

It would be WAY too long of a post if I shared EVERYTHING, but there are a few more things to share….

Washington Memorial sunrise in the reflecting pool

First, I ADORE the pics Todd took on his second morning in DC. He went running the first morning–without a camera–and found where he wanted to be the next morning WITH a camera. I was sleeping. ๐Ÿ™‚

I LOVE the reflection in the reflecting pool.

And I love the blue sky in the other direction looking at the Lincoln Memorial.

So here's my favorite story….One of our favorite nights was spent having dinner with other demonstrators and their husbands. We signed up for a restaurant and a time and met 4 other couples who had done the same. We had fun chatting about Stampin' Up! (both from the demo and husbands' point of view), baseball, wine, chocolate….you name it. And Todd was pretty chatty. The next morning we found one of the couples at the breakfast buffet. AGAIN, Todd was pretty chatty. In fact, at one point I leaned over to my new friend Sharon and said, "Can you believe I'M the chatty one in the family?!" Her jaw dropped. Too funny. I've realized Todd LIKES to be spoiled. He was having a good time!!! And I've been informed by him that we WILL be going on the next getaway–in Newport Beach, CA–next year!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I better keep workin!!

That night we came back to THESE pillow gifts!

They are sneak peek items from an upcoming Holiday Supplement! Nothing will be available to order until October 20. The supplement will mail sometime in October. (I forgot timing!) Check out how HUGE the largest star is (right)!!! It takes up the whole 12×12 pc!!

Medium Star (Many Merry Stars Kit)

So I played with my kit, just a little, since I've been home:

I made one of the medium star boxes. (They are decorative–not open/closeable.)

This one is 4" high.

Here's the pic of the full packaging again, so you can see the difference in sizes available. (Click the pkg pic to see it more clearly.)

Ok, so here's my last picture from our last night in DC. We were told by EVERY SINGLE PERSON we talked to (who had gone to DC before) that the ONE THING we HAD to do on our trip was see the memorials at night.

It was amazing.

Washington Memorial at nightWe started at the Washington Memorial.

As I was walking up to it, I just kept thinking I was dreaming.

It was so regal and spectacular!

The picture does not even come close to doing it justice. You just had to be there.

Thank you Stampin' Up! for our amazing trip!

And thank you again to all my customers and downline for helping me earn a spot–2 spots–in DC. It was fabulous–and so are you!!
