Not really scraps at all!

January 21, 2013
I'm a COLOR Girl!· Project Pics· Tricks of the Trade

21 Jan

Happy Scrappy Monday! I've been trying to make that a tradition–call it a habit, if you will–every week….to use scraps to make my project every Monday.

Well, the whole point is to use your resources wisely, right?

I think that's important.

And sometimes that helps bring out your creativity.

I have big wish lists just like all of you….And although, my business pays for itself, I still need to use my dollars wisely.

Sometimes I just need to use what I have and save my dollars for something else–and show you how to do the same.

A couple months ago, I designed some bridal/shower themed projects for my hostess Sherry who's getting married in a few months.

I wanted to order everything in the catalog having to do with brides!

But that wasn't going to happen.

I DID order Embellished Events and the Wedding Words jumbo wheel (#125433, pg 38.) I wanted VERSATILE!

Other than that, I worked with what I had.

Here are a few of my ideas using my interpretation of her colors. They are pretty good traditional Valentine colors, too:

The colors are Pink Pirouette, Primrose Petals, Certainly Celery and Whisper White.

I had SO MUCH FUN using the Wedding Words wheel!

Can you see what I underlined?

She said, "Yes!"

The little "shower" tab came from Teeny Tiny Wishes; "celebrate" is from Embellished Events; and the flowers in the background are from Bordering on Romance.

I also used Bitty Buttons (#118761), Mini Glue Dots (#103683), White Gel Pen (#105021), Scallop Trim Border Punch (#118402) and Organza Ribbon (#114319).

Embellished EventsThis one focuses on Embellished Events.

The flowers are from Summer Silhouettes, though; "Love" is from Pennant Parade; and "shower" is from Teeny Tiny Wishes again.

I also used Basic Rhinestone Jewels (#119246), White Gel Pen (#105021), and Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon (#126844). Oh–Dimensionals (#104430), too, under the Pink Pirouette.

Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder (#117335), Basic Pearl Jewels (#119247) and Certainly Celery 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon (#119963).

Same–but different–and again going with the thought of "What do I already have on hand?"

Don't get me wrong!…..I'd still love for you to place orders from me! *Ü*

But some of the decisions we make can help us get some of the larger items on our wish list!

And who doesn't want to be able to do that?!?!

3 Things Before I Go:

  1. TODAY is the last day to order either of the Valentine bundles.
  2. Sale-a-Bration (SAB) starts tomorrow! I'll be back with a fun scrapbook page that I kinda already gave you a sneak peek at.
  3. I'll be back Wed. with my FAVORITE bridal shower invite that I made for Sherry.

Have a great week!!

Remember,
if you can fall in love with a project, you can learn to
create it! Here to help you channel your inner Creative
Genius….
