So I mentioned yesterday that I have some Heart Candy to share with you….I will be going to
Florida to help my sister with her new baby in February for close to 2
weeks!!
I'm so absolutely excited!
And I have to share with you how the Lord worked….A few weeks ago, I called her to chat, and at some point, she asked me when Sale-a-Bration was–knowing it's a busy time for me.
I told her it was 1/22 through 3/22. She thought it was done a month
earlier and thought [out loud], "well that won't work." But I pressed her
to tell me what she was thinking.
She had a "hypothetical" question for me….something like, "What do
you think the possibility would be to come and stay with me for a week
after the baby comes?"
Honestly, I don't know where exactly my mind went except that I probably went into problem-solving mode. I realized that I pretty much had a whole week open already–around when she was thinking.
Now I have to share with you that earlier, it had been a frustration of mine that I had an empty week.
Then I realized the Lord allowed that, so I had a place to start to help her out–during a time that's typically crazy to even consider!
Then–add to that my amazingly supportive husband, wonderfully supportive kids and totally flexible and fantastic customers (who agreed to move a couple dates to open up even more time), and I have a trip to Florida scheduled to help my sister and see my niece and nephews!!!!
A week or 2 after we started praying about it and discussing it, I kept getting really bawly every time I'd think of them–and I couldn't keep my mind off them! (That made for lots of tears; don't know what it was.) I even sent out an email to my club that I was going to see in a couple days [that would be the final decision on the trip] rather than wait to talk to them in person, because I thought I'd cry when I talked to them. (Just a ball of emotions!!) Todd and the kids seemed to find a lot of humor in that.
But I've settled now.
Here's the thing….We could use your prayers, too, that the Lord works out all the timing again….Based on her last 3 pregnancies, she'll go early–which is what we've booked on. I remember getting a call for Antonio 3 weeks early right away in the morning. Expecting to hear they were on their way to the hospital, instead I heard, "You have a new nephew." My reaction was, "Wait. What?"
I'm sure I can help her in any way while I'm there, but I'm praying that I can fill in the gap exactly where she needs it. Her husband is a new doctor with an insane schedule right now and only a week of paternity time available.
Thank you, in advance, for helping us pray (and letting me share my Heart Candy. *Ü*)
