Scrap Me a Post-It Note Holder!

November 5, 2012
Making an Impact· Tricks of the Trade

Welcome to a new week! Let's start it out right with a scrappy project using one of my favorite Designer Series Papers (DSP.)

You've seen the project before, but I wanted to change up the idea.

It's made totally from the Howlstooth & Scaringbone scraps I had. Isn't it great?!

As I've shared before, you start with a 4"x4" chipboard coaster and some Anywhere Gluestick.

My suggestion would be to plan/position your scraps on the coaster before you add any gluestick to the coaster.

I didn't do that for the first side, and my adhesive dried by the time I figured out every piece of my puzzle.

I'd also suggest mod-podging the whole thing when you're done to protect all the edges of the DSP. (But I haven't done that to mine yet.)

Oh–and I brushed the edge of the coaster with Basic Gray ink before and after adding all the DSP.

Scrappy Summer SmoochesHow I designed the puzzle made me think of this scrappy card that I may have already shared with you….

I made this at a seminar I attended in the spring.

It looks "quilted" or like a lattice, but it's not. The edges are just positioned against each other.

For both projects, there are many different lengths of DSP….Once you have them in place, you just trim the edges for a finished look.

Have fun making yours and let me see how they turn out!

Have a great week!
