I'm using the set Stylin' Snowfolk today–pg 16, full catalog. And it's an awesome stamp set to have fun with!!!
Before I get to that, though, I just found out the Stampin' Trimmer we've all been waiting for is HERE!!!! You can order it now!
I was able to preorder mine a couple weeks ago. It's fabulous!!
I'll tell you later why you NEED this, but for now I wanted to let those of you who have been asking me about it know that it's here.
Back to my fun card!
Let me start out by being completely honest with you….
- Stylin' Snowfolk was on my MUST HAVE list from the "new" catalog in June. (Not top 5, but it made the first order.)
- Once I started working with it, I was a little frustrated.
- It seemed more difficult to use than I had hoped.
- I've learned to ease up on my perfectionism a little with this craft….I like my projects to look good, but I don't like to pull out my Stamp-a-ma-jig.
- And if I have a set that always requires it, I'll tend not to use the set rather than pull out the tool to make it look good every time.
- But I didn't want to give up on the set! (Too cute!) So I started playing with it again.
When I started practicing with the set, I came up with some goofy looks. My thought was, "These are cute, but not 'perfect' like I had hoped."
Somehow I just thought of a goofy photoshoot (like in a photobooth?) and went with it.
I think my imperfections are adorable!! And I honestly don't mean that to sound arrogant.
I just think sometimes we can look at things a little differently and still find "beauty" in it.
Once I accepted my imperfections, I couldn't stop smiling while I was making the card.
My "mistakes" make a pretty fun card!
Couple things to mention:
- Rich Razzleberry & Old Olive (imagine my using those together!!)
- Whisper White craft pad for greeting (More Merry Messages)
- 1 3/8" square punch for "pictures"
- Houndstooth Embossing Folder
- Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack (did you see the piercing?!?!?!….love, love love!)
I had lots of fun using this set, and I think kids would love stylin' their snowfolk, too!
You can order any of these items through my online store (top right), 24/7.
Tomorrow's Pin-spiration day! I'll talk to you by then!
Have a great day!
