Not As Basic As You Think!

July 6, 2012
I'm a COLOR Girl!· Project Pics

Scan0091

I believe I've made myself clear in the past that I love color! Bright colors!

And sometimes a "basic" color surprises me….

This is an amazingly beautiful card using Basic Gray and Daffodil Delight! But Basic Gray doesn't look so basic, does it?

(I'm really sorry, but I can't give credit to the original designer of the card. I received it  from another demonstrator at a seminar a couple months ago…fell in love with it…scanned it…displayed it…and promptly lost the designer name.  [Demos], if you know who it is, please let me know.)

For some reason, it always shocks me how Basic Gray can just pop with the right colors! Wouldn't you agree?! (It's one of the colors in the Razzleberry Splash Simply Scrappin' Kit, too. Are you signed up for it? Get details HERE.)

Can you see all the detail in the background, too? She used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to make the quilted, scored look in the back. The set is called Love & Laughter.

Scan0089And here's another card using Basic Gray, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red. This is a suggested Color Coach combo–I've been using the Coach a lot! So handy!!

If you don't have Basic Gray or if you have it and don't use it often, you should give it a try! It's a nice change for a neutral color in your design.

By the way, if you aren't familiar with the classes I have coming up, check them out soon! One of them is even FREE in a couple weeks.

AND THIS CARD is part of the July 31 class–using Betsy's Blossoms and Polka Dot Parade designer paper!!! It does require you or a friend to purchase the set by July 23 to have it in time.  Here are more details you need to know.

If you have questions, let me know!

Here to help you channel your inner Creative Genius….

Have a great day!

Steph

I've always enjoyed seeing/looking at others' creativity…I envy those that think out of the box.
