Look a little familar?

January 22, 2014
Project Pics· The "Other" Stuff

22 Jan

To many of you, this card may look kinda familiar.

But it was too cool not to share.

Starburst Framelits, Arrows embossing folder, A Dozen Thoughts, www.dazzledbystamping.com

For those of you who DON'T find this familiar, the basic design is much like my Hostess Appreciation Party invite.

There's Basic Gray here, Silver Foil, Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Basic Rhinestones…

oh and Pink Pirouette.

Kinda blingy. I like it.

The hearts on the vellum are a perfect spot for Mini Glue Dots on back.

(If you haven't worked with vellum before, you can see adhesive through it. So the hearts hide it well.)

One of the cool things about this card that you can't really tell in the first pic is that it's a full length card.

You know how when you use the Circle or Label Thinlits Card Dies, you cut a few inches off the card?

Well, you can make it full length!

Starburst Framelits, Arrows embossing folder, A Dozen Thoughts, Sassy Salutations, www.dazzledbystamping.com Starburst Framelits, Arrows embossing folder, A Dozen Thoughts, Sassy Salutations, www.dazzledbystamping.com

To do so, I cut off 1/16" off leaving 5 7/16" (not 5 1/2") x 8 1/2". (It just fits better without bending funny.)

Then tuck the non-flip end up OVER the outside of the framelit, like in this pic:

making an extended flip card, www.dazzledbystamping.com

The pressure of running through the Big Shot with the cs OVER the frame causes a score line, allowing you to close the right side of the card.

This extended design gives you more room to write a personal note!

If you like to be short n sweet, though….forget the extension. 😉

Have a great day!
