Pinspiration by Simple Contrast

December 1, 2012
I'm a COLOR Girl!· Project Pics· Tricks of the Trade

1 Dec

My Pinspiration for this week is a simple picture with contrasting colors. I love the peacefulness of it. That's what attracted me to it.

Then when I started to play, I was inspired to play differently than normal.

The colors I see are Night of Navy, Midnight Muse, Sahara Sand, So Saffron and Calypso Coral.

I had fun trying to mimic some of the effects in this image.

Here's my card:

I didn't want too much white in the card, so I had to figure out how I wanted to stamp the flowers….

Once I stamped the stems, I sponged Whisper White craft ink where I wanted to stamp the flowers. I needed to make them brighter but still soft.

Another fun part about this card is the vase. Remember the Holiday Ornaments Framelits so many of you bought in the bundle from the Holiday Mini?

I used one of them with the bottom tip hanging off the cs.

THEN……I ran the ornament/vase through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and inked the "grain" directly with Midnight Muse ink.

THEN………….I pulled out a tool I haven't used in awhile:

The Color Spritzer Tool!!!

You insert the brush tip of your Stampin' Write Marker, secure it in place and "blow" ink off the marker onto your project.

Isn't that a fun look?!

The set I used was Summer Silhouettes, plus Lacy & Lovely (in Illuminate ink–pg 23, Holiday Mini.)

I hope this card inspired you to use your tools in a different way–or pull out "old" ones.

Remember,
if you can fall in love with a project, you can learn to
create it! Here to help you channel your inner Creative
Genius….

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Steph
