Today's the day you can order from the Holiday Supplement!!
(One thing I forgot all about until late in the day at my Saturday Stamp Camp….everything in the Holiday Supplement is WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!! Don't wait!!)
When I assembled my largest star, I wanted to show you that you can leave part of it unassembled so you can insert ribbon for a wall hanging or an ornament.
Margie had ANOTHER idea!!
She saw it as a way you could use these stars as GIFT BOXES!!!
- Tuck your gift or candy inside the box with one of your top flaps open. (Don't take the adhesive backing off either edge of the side strips.)
- Tuck the side strip and end tab inside–as if the star is completely assembled.
- Give your pretty package away!
- Your lucky friend or relative can then re-use the star (or give it back to you!!) as you originally did…..OR finish assembling the star and use as part of her Christmas decor!
Thanks, Margie, for the great idea!!
Ok, Stampin' Up! released a video showing you everything that's in the kit–and how to assemble the stars.
I have a suggestion, though….I found that when I got to the BACK SIDE of the star, it went together better if I had all the adhesive backing off the side strips, so I could press each corner together into a nice sharp point. (For one of the stars, when I took each backing off separately, my star points were too wide or flared and the back star wouldn't cover the adhesive properly.)
If you DON'T LIKE that suggestion, you might want to at least take the FINAL 2 backings off at the same time….then you won't have the difficulty of tucking in that last tab as shown in the video. You decide what works for YOU.)
And here are MORE ideas for the kit!!
Who likes MARGIE'S idea better than the "trap door?" 😉
ME!!!!
Ok, hope you enjoy the videos!!
I'm off to open up some hostess codes for my clubs coming up.
My Christmas Stamp Camp(s) went GREAT, by the way!
I'll start sharing some more from them tomorrow.
Have a great week!
